With towering icebergs of marbled deep blue swirls in the distance, I stood among the colonies of gentoo and Adélie penguins , soaking up my surroundings in Antarctica. Mothers fed their newly hatched babies, fathers sneakily grabbed pebbles from another nest to bring to theirs, and adolescents began to shed their fluff to make room for new feathers. Countless moments forced me to stop, take a deep breath, and truly take in where I was and how I got there.
