After underwhelming in 2024, Auburn football finds itself in a worst-case scenario for an SEC program — it has a losing streak against Vanderbilt.

Technically, it's one game, as the Commodores came to Jordan-Hare Stadium last fall and beat the Tigers 17-7. Auburn had played Vanderbilt twice before since 2016, and it beat the SEC bottom-dweller twice.

It also gave New Mexico State transfer quarterback Diego Pavia another victory against a Hugh Freeze -coached squad, which he has done every year since 2022. Freeze and Auburn will get their shot at redemption Nov. 2, when they head to Nashville for another bout with the Commodores.
