Six lemur infants, all endangered species, were born this season at the Lemur Conservation Foundation’s reserve in Myakka City.

The collared brown lemur twins were born in April, followed by a triplet of critically endangered red ruffed lemurs in May. The sixth infant, an endangered ring-tail lemur, joined the colony in June. Names for all of the infants are pending.

“More than 98% of all lemur species are threatened with extinction,” Lemur Conservation Foundation executive director Deborah Robbins Millman said. “Baby season is a time of renewed hope that the world’s oldest living primates will be saved.”
