Hurricane Erin weakens to a Category 4. It still won’t hit Florida

Hurricane Erin went from Category 4 to a top-of-the-scale Category 5 Saturday morning — but fortunately on a projected path that should keep it well away from Florida and the East Coast. By the evening, it already weakened back down to a Cat 4.
