FARGO — It's later than most seasons but North Dakota State will open its home season by raising an FCS national championship banner for the 10th time against a team visiting the Fargodome for the first time.
Southeast Missouri State will be the second Big South-Ohio Valley Conference team to play in Fargo, this time on Sept. 13, in as many years. Tennessee State visited Fargo last season, and much like the Tigers, the Redhawks are a team in transition. The Tigers lost their head coach, Eddie George, but SEMO must now learn to play without the school's all-time leading passer in quarterback Paxton DeLaurent.
DeLaurent was a three-year starter, leading his team to two FCS playoff appearances, and was named the conference offensive player of the year last season.
