Police are appealing for help to trace a Plymouth man following reports of a serious assault - but say he should not be approached.

The Devon and Cornwall force wants to trace Gary White, aged 35, from Plymouth and has asked for information from the public.

Police said he has strong links across the city in particular the Keyham and Barne Barton areas. A police spokesperson said: “Gary White is sought in connection with reports of a serious assault.

“Inquiries are being made by police to locate him and the public are being asked for any sightings or information as to his whereabouts. Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him but to call the police.”

Mr White is described as white, 6ft 2ins tall, and of medium build. He has short, brown hair and may have stubble or facial hair.
