HERRIMAN — A search is underway for a missing man in Blackridge Reservoir, while another man who tried to save his life is now in the hospital.

At 5:45 p.m. Saturday, emergency dispatchers received a report of two men struggling in the water at the reservoir, located at 15000 S. Ashland Ridge Drive in Herriman. One man was pulled out and taken to an area hospital, according to Herriman Police Sgt. Greg Shaver; the other man never resurfaced.

Unified Fire Capt. Tony Baker said search crews immediately began looking for the missing man using boats and a grid system. They were aided by search and rescue teams from Bluffdale and South Jordan.
