BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said that a Weaverville man is in custody following a homicide investigation Saturday.

Deputies said they responded to 1990 Old NC 20 Highway in Alexander to a report of a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, deputies located 43-year-old Jason Gary Cole, of Weaverville, dead with an apparent gunshot wound.

Following the investigation, officials said that Patrick Tucker Wood, 35 of Weaverville, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Wood is currently being held under no bond at the Buncombe County Detention Facility.
