Columbus Clippers 4, Toledo Mud Hens 3 (box)

Sometimes wins just slip away, and that’s exactly what happened to Toledo Saturday night against Columbus.

After trailing 2-1 for most of the game, the Mud Hens scored two in the seventh off a Tomas Nido double to take the lead.

Offense came at a premium in this one, with both teams combining for 11 hits. Hao-Yu Lee led off the bottom of the first with a single, and Eduardo Valencia tripled with one out in the second — he’d score on a sacrifice fly — but only one Mud Hen reached base from the third through the sixth.
