Mean Girls enthusiasts will want to switch on their television screens this evening as the beloved film that devotees can recite line by line is available to watch without charge.

Mean Girls hit cinemas in 2004, and despite being released over two decades ago, it continues to be a massive success with audiences. With its sharp wit, the movie chronicles newcomer Cady Heron as she navigates a complicated social pecking order at her fresh American secondary school.

However, she quickly becomes embroiled in the heart of an ongoing feud between a clique of "mean girls" and two "misfits". Featuring Lindsay Lohan as Cady, viewers also know Rachel McAdams as Regina George, Amanda Seyfried as Karen Smith and Lacey Chabert as Gretchen Wieners.

The picture will now be broadcast on ITV2 and ITVX
