Josh Allen has played in at least one preseason game every year. Could Week 2 against the Chicago Bears on Saturday be when he sees action?

The Buffalo Bills quarterback said this week that while preseason action isn't a must, he’d welcome the chance to get on the field if coaches decide it's worthwhile.

"No, I don't think I need preseason reps,” Allen said Tuesday. “If I were to get them, I'd appreciate them. But I don't think it's a situation where we need to get out there.”

Allen has played in 11 of a possible 21 preseason games in his career, with the 2020 preseason canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, he played one series in the first preseason game, also against Chicago, and sat the remainder of August.
