A Royal Caribbean cruise ship made a stop in Central Florida on Sunday after being rerouted because of Hurricane Erin.
The Vision of the Seas pulled into Port Canaveral just after sunrise Sunday morning. The ship had departed Maryland on Thursday and was originally headed to Bermuda.
But with Hurricane Erin churning in the Atlantic, Royal Caribbean decided to change course for the safety of passengers and crew.
“We’d rather be safe. It is disappointing because we wanted to be in Bermuda. But I see the hurricane is heading right there,” passenger Sherry Teycer said.
Many passengers said they were disappointed but understood the decision.
"We just don’t know where to go or what to do. That’s all. The excursions weren’t all that great," said passenger Mary Orzano.
