The Broncos defeated the Cardinals, 27-7, on Saturday night inside Empower Field at Mile High in their second NFL preseason game.

Here are three takeaways from the win:

Opening drive magic

The Broncos' offense, with mostly backups playing, dominated on their first series of the game. Quarterback Jarrett Stidham hit tight end Evan Engram on a 58-yard catch and run. His next completion went to wide receiver Pat Bryant for 29 yards. Running back RJ Harvey closed the drive with an 8-yard rumble into the end zone. It was an encouraging start, especially with all that production from newcomers on the roster. Denver found little resistance from the Cardinals' defense all night.
