Gerard Butler began the year in movies with Den of Thieves 2: Pantera , but one year before he played the famous Big Nick for the first time, he starred in a critically panned sci-fi film that just landed a new streaming home. 2017 brought on the release of Geostorm , the sci-fi disaster thriller following a scientist who must stop a network of climate change satellites that begin to attack Earth unexpectedly. Geostorm is currently only streaming on Tubi, but Paramount+ has announced that it will begin streaming on the platform starting next month, on September 1 . Geostorm earned “Rotten” scores of 18% from critics and 35% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, but it still grossed $221 million at the global box office against a $120 million budget.
