WASHINGTON — Nebraska punter Archie Wilson became emotional during a touching moment at a recent press conference.
The 19-year-old freshman, who is from Frankston South, Victoria, Australia, joined the University of Nebraska Huskers football team over the summer. While answering questions from the media on Tuesday, Wilson teared up after he was asked about being away from family for the first time.
"That part is hard, I mean... I'm sorry," he said before breaking down in tears and placing his head down on the podium.
"Yeah, I love them a lot," he continued, "I have two little brothers and a mom and a dad, and that's the tough part about being here. I love them a lot and I miss them. But they know this is what's best for me."
"It's good I can still talk to them plenty over the phone.
