There are so many versions of Skyrim at this point that it has become a bit of a meme in the online space, particularly whilst The Elder Scrolls 6 remains seemingly so far off and mysterious.

From the Legendary Edition to the Special Edition, it can be difficult to even know which is the best one to buy if you're thinking about jumping on in 2025.

The most recent version of the game is actually the Skyrim: Anniversary Edition, which released back in 2021 to celebrate the game's 10th birthday. It bundles together everything from the Special Edition with a full suite of Creation Club content released at the time of the Anniversary Edition's launch, including new quests, armour, locations and gameplay modes.
