The forecast for Sunday calls for sunny, but cooler weather, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

Highs this week are expected to be cooler after a sweltering Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, weather forecasters said, with warnings that there could be showers and thunderstorms late Monday and Tuesday.

The highs in metro Detroit on Saturday, Aug. 16, reached into the low 90s, National Weather Service forecaster Sara Schultz said, a reminder that yes, it's still summer despite all the early talk about college football.

"It was pretty toasty," Schultz noted, but short of the record, 95 degrees.
