A fight between a group of minors escalated to an exchange of gunfire, killing one teenager outside a house party in Covina, according to police.

Law enforcement was called to the 700 block of Peachtree Lane shortly after 10 p.m. for a report of shots fired near a house party. Upon arriving, officers saw several teenagers fleeing the scene, the Covina Police Department said.

As the investigation unfolded, officers learned that a shooting victim was driven by friends to a nearby hospital. That individual died at the scene.

The shooting victim was only identified as a teenage boy. His exact age and identity were not disclosed.
