A central Ohio chapter of a national group that has protested Donald Trump is planning a protest in Columbus on Sunday, Aug. 17, against Gov. Mike DeWine ordering 150 National Guard troops to the nation's capital.

The group, Ohio 50501, said the protest will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on High Street in front of the Ohio Statehouse.

"We will not stand by as Mike DeWine sends our national guard troops to further militarize DC," the group wrote in a Facebook post.

DeWine said in an Aug. 16 statement that the Secretary of the Army asked for 150 military police to support the District of Columbia National Guard.
