A 92-year-old woman died at a hospital following a Saturday night collision in north Phoenix, police said.

The crash happened about 9:40 p.m. Aug. 17 at 7 th and Northern avenues, where officers found Carolyn Pain in critical condition. She was taken to a hospital but did not survive, police said.

Detectives took over the investigation and reported preliminary information indicates Pain was driving a sedan north on 7 th Avenue when she failed to yield the right-of-way while turning left onto Northern Avenue and collided with a tow truck.

Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the collision, police said.
