A pair of El Paso high school athletes, one current and one who recently graduated, have made their college choices.

Walt Mann, Coronado baseball

Mann, who will be a senior infielder at Coronado High School for the 2026 season, has verbally committed to New Mexico State in Las Cruces. He is the third El Paso high school player to commit to the Aggies, which compete in Conference USA. Coronado outfielder Ben Wilson and Americas third baseman Drew Gonzalez are the two other Aggie commits. Both are also seniors.

Mann was a second-team El Paso Times' All-City selection this past spring. He hit .369 with 30 runs scored and 20 extra base hits. Mann played a big part in Coronado winning the District 1-6A title and a bidistrict playoff championship.
