‘The loss of a child touches everybody’s hearts’: candlelight vigil held for Jayden Spicer

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - It’s been four days since the search for 10-year-old Jayden Spicer found a tragic end.

Losing Jayden has shaken communities and broken hearts across the Commonwealth and beyond.

Saturday, a vigil is held in his honor.

“The loss of a child touches everybody’s heart,” Shannon Ritchie says, one of the vigil organizers.

Family, friends and strangers come together in Breathitt County to honor and remember Jayden.

Organizers Shannon Ritchie and Courtney Couch say the goal is to support Jayden’s family.

“We want them to know that they’re not alone. We think Jayden’s aunts will appreciate it and his siblings and we just hope we can show them support,” Ritchie says.
