ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL (LOOTPRESS) – A semi-truck driver has been arrested for vehicular homicide following a fatal crash on the Florida Turnpike on Tuesday.

Authorities say Harjinger Singh made an illegal U-turn, causing a Chrysler minivan to collide with the side of his commercial semi-truck.

All three occupants of the minivan were killed in the crash. Investigators described Singh’s maneuver as reckless, leading directly to the deadly collision.

Further investigation revealed that Singh had been living in the United States illegally since 2018.

Officials with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said he obtained a Commercial Driver’s License in California after entering the U.S. from Mexico without authorization.
