SAGINAW, MI – Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting in the Saginaw area that left five people injured.

The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, near Perkins and 23rd streets in Saginaw.

Police said five people were shot while at a large gathering in the street. Officers found one victim who had been shot and hit by a car lying in the street.

The individual is in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

Four additional victims arrived at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. All were listed in good condition and their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police said a lack of cooperation from victims and witnesses of violent crimes in Saginaw continue to impact investigations. No arrests have been made.
