SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Back to school shopping might be exciting for some, but some families are met with anxiety this time of year when it comes to additional spending.

That’s why approximately one-thousand pairs of shoes were given out to families in need right here in Springfield on Saturday.

The fifth annual Back to School Sneaker Event was hosted by Vox Church in partnership with other Springfield organizations such as The Boys and Girls Club.
