While plenty of Star Wars film projects have been announced and are in various stages of development, there are only a handful that seem like they may actually ever end up happening. While projects like Rian Johnson's trilogy or Patty Jenkins' Star Wars: Rogue Squadron feel farther out or not possible at all, there are other feature films that feel far more plausible. Star Wars: Starfighter already has a director in Shawn Levy and a star in Ryan Gosling, and The Mandalorian and Grogu has already wrapped filming. Another major project that appears to be underway is a Star Wars trilogy being developed by Simon Kinberg — and according to Kinberg, he already knows he's drawing inspiration from another Star Wars title.
