CLEVELAND BROWNS star Dillon Gabriel has been forced to backtrack on controversial comments after fans claimed he took a swipe at teammate Shedeur Sanders.

The two players are competing for the Browns’ coveted quarterback position in this season’s NFL.

Sanders made his bow in the 30-10 win over the Carolina Panthers a week ago after being Drafted earlier this year.

While Gabriel was handed his first start in yesterday’s 22-13 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles.

But the ace suffered a backlash from fans after making controversial remarks.

Gabriel declared he could “tune out the noise”, which some took as a dig aimed at high-profile Sanders.
