SUMTER, S.C. — A major event in Sumter is drawing attention not just for its celebrity participants, but for the meaningful causes it hopes to support.

The C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S. of Golf Tournament is bringing together athletes, entertainers and the community for a charity golf event at Beech Creek Golf Course to raise awareness and funds for several organizations across South Carolina.

“The focus isn’t just on the golf course but also to raise funds and awareness for several charitable efforts,” said Dexter Davis, co-founder of Champion Ministry.

Davis said the event supports a range of causes across the state.
