The U.S. women's national softball team secured its fourth straight World Games gold medal in Chengdu, China.
After cruising through group play with a 3-0 record, the world-ranked No. 2 Team USA earned a 7-6 win (10 innings) over No. 1 Japan in the semifinals earlier Sunday. It then defeated No. 4 Chinese Taipei later that day by a score of 5-0 in the gold medal game.
OU alum Tiare Jennings was named the Most Valuable Player for the World Games. The star infielder recorded seven runs, five RBIs and two homers on 8-for-20 hitting (.400) throughout the tournament.
Jennings' biggest hit came during Team USA's semifinals game against with Japan. She delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Jennings earned a spot on the All-World Team alongside former Sooners team
