HOUSTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Several East Texas emergency agencies came together on Saturday in Houston County for water rescue training to stay ahead of disasters.
The Texas Game Wardens, Houston County Fire Search and Rescue and Hudson Fire Search and Rescue teamed up together to learn more about how to respond during water emergencies.
Conner Sumbera, a Texas game warden for Houston County, was one of over 30 people in attendance.
He said working with other agencies was beneficial and crucial to learning how to respond efficiently in emergencies.
“Being able to communicate good as a team and work together as a team is very vital for these rescues to be successful,” Sumbera said.
