The Professional Disc Golf Association is hosting the 2025 Amateur Disc Golf World Championship in Columbia and Jefferson City from August 18-23. The temperature is hot, and with heat comes heat-related incidents.

Adam Morrison, the tournament director, knows that this is a concern and has prepared to keep the players hydrated and safe.

"The PDGA staff will be there, we have PDGA marshals at each course and they are well equipped for heat exhaustion and heat stroke, they have the necessary tools to help cover those things," Morrison said.

Morrison added that while they are not trained paramedics, they are trained on how to recognize the signs of heatstroke and heat exhaustion. The marshals also have experience with players and competitors dealing with heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
