LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Senate Bill 1008 requires every city and county in Texas to follow statewide rules when it comes to issuing food permits. This means that the Laredo Public Health Department will update the local permitting process to comply with new requirements.

The health department will be holding two free workshops to help food business owners understand what is changing.

The first workshop will take place on Tuesday, August 19, at 3 p.m. The second workshop will be on Friday, August 22, at 10 a.m.

Both workshops will be located at the Laredo Public Health Auditorium.
