KERN COUNTY, Calif. (KABC) -- A determined - and hungry - bear left quite a mess Friday after breaking into a home in Kern County, and the items he chose to take were quite interesting.

Bridget Conley has a home in the Pine Mountain Club community in the Los Padres National Forest. She said around 6:15 a.m., she started getting alerts from her security cameras.

"He was huge," said Conley. "This bear was the biggest bear that we have seen ... huge."

She said the bear spent nearly an hour inside the home.

Surveillance video shows the bear kicking the door open and making its way in. Moments later, the bear is seen coming out with a bag of chips!

"There were multiple snacks, because once he broke in, he would go in, ransack and pick something that he wanted to eat, come back outside
