The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season for Ty Gibbs has been a challenging one to say the least. After making the playoffs for the first time of his career in 2024, it'll take a miracle - more specifically, a win in the regular-season finale at Daytona - for the No. 54 driver to make consecutive appearances in the postseason.

Through 25 races this year with first-year crew chief Tyler Allen, , the 22-year-old has recorded six top 10s and four top 5s. That first career win has remained elusive after 112 starts.

The only car from Joe Gibbs Racing not in the playoffs and naturally frustrations have been high. That was evident at Iowa when the driver got into a tense radio exchange with JGR Competition Director Chris Gabehart, who has also served as his de facto crew chief in recent weeks.
