Sterling Heights has earned another distinction.
According to a new study by the personal finance website WalletHub it is the Best City in Michigan for first-time home buyers.
Rebecca Kujawa is not surprised.
“I love it here,” she said.
Kujawa and her husband, Samuel, purchased their first home, a three bedroom brick home tucked in a quiet neighborhood off Van Dyke Avenue three years ago, when interest rates were hovering around 3%.
They wanted something between where their families live and their workplaces, she being a teacher at a daycare in Shelby Township and he being a robotics programmer for an automotive company in Auburn Hills.
Samuel also wanted a big yard with lots of privacy.
