Where good news shines

Cherry Creek, Broomfield and Pomona headlined the CHSAA preseason football polls released Thursday.

Cherry Creek is ranked No. 1 in the Class 5A poll, followed by Valor Christian and Legend.

Broomfield earned the top spot in Class 4A, while Pomona is considered the team to beat in Class 3A. Wellington and Wray are the favorites in Class 2A and 1A, respectively, Haxtun and Cheyenne Wells are the top teams in 8-Man and 6-Man football. Games can start Thursday.
