This weekend has so far served as a reminder for both top teams in the National League West.

By winning both of the first two games of their rivalry series, the Los Angeles Dodgers have taken back first place in the National League West from the San Diego Padres.

After the Padres made up 10 games in the standings in just over a month, the Dodgers have seemingly let them know that they still intend to keep their top dog status. And they had a former Padre deliver the message on Saturday night.

Former Padres Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell, who signed a five-year contract with the Dodgers in December, threw six scoreless innings in Los Angeles' 6-0 win at Dodger Stadium on Saturday.
