A family dog was killed in a house fire in north-east Burlington Sunday afternoon.

Burlington Fire was called to the residential fire on Seton Crescent, in the Orchard neighbourhood, a little after 1 p.m. Sunday, the City of Burlington communications said in an email.

No one was home at the time of the fire, except for the dog.

“Resuscitation efforts were made but were unfortunately unsuccessful,” the city said.

The fire caused an estimated $100,000 damages, plus smoke damage throughout the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
