DALEVILLE, IN — A Daleville man was arrested after a pickup truck-motorcycle crash that claimed the life of an Anderson resident.

Emergency responders were sent to the scene of the crash, at Ind. 32 and Walnut Street in Daleville, about 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15.

According to a news release issued by Daleville police, when officers arrived at the scene, "they observed that there was one motorcycle operator that was unresponsive and one that had an apparent leg injury."

Delaware County Coroner Gavin Greene on Sunday identified the deceased crash victim as Eric McConnell, 36, of Anderson. An autopsy was conducted Sunday at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

The other crash victim, whose name was not released, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a fractured leg.
