FRESNO, Calif. -- A woman was killed Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in a suspected DUI-related collision in central Fresno.
Fresno Police received several 911 calls reporting the crash near the intersection of Olive Avenue and First Street.
Despite life-saving efforts, the adult female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
Officers say the driver of the vehicle is a man in his 50s and was traveling westbound on Olive when, for unknown reasons, he veered off the road and struck the woman.
The man remained on scene and is being evaluated for possible driving under the influence. No other injuries were reported.
