SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The City of Spokane Valley is gearing up for substantial growth over the next two decades, with projections estimating nearly 21,000 new residents.

This figure emerged during an August 14 Planning Commission meeting where Planning Manager Steve Roberge discussed the city’s development capacity.

At the meeting, it was revealed that Spokane Valley has about 134 acres available for commercial development, 101 acres for industrial use and 681 acres set aside for residential capacity.

This residential capacity means around 6,000 potential dwelling units could be developed under current zoning regulations.
