BRAINERD — With memories of last year’s failure, Funny Car driver Austin Prock entered the final round of the Lucas Oil Nationals Sunday, Aug. 17, with a chip on his shoulder.
The extra motivation helped as he captured the Wally at Brainerd International Raceway.
During his rookie season in a Funny Car last year, Prock won eight times on his way to a World Championship. One would be hard-pressed to find failure in that, but his performance at Brainerd last year stuck with him. In the second round of eliminations, Prock lost on a hole shot to JR Todd.
