A preliminary investigation shows that Knowles was swimming after her tube in a mild current in the river, when she suffered a medical event as she was returning to the shore, police said.
Two good Samaritans performed lifesaving measures on Knowles until first responders arrived on scene and took over, but she was later pronounced dead, according to police, who did not specify what kind of medical event Knowles experienced.
