ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

An Albuquerque girl with Down syndrome is being featured this year as a part of the National Down Syndrome Society video.

Amira Valdez is 3 years old, and her mom says that Amira is a ray of sunshine who loves music, fairy lights, and she also likes to sing.

Amira's photo was selected out of 2,600 entries worldwide. Her photo will be part of the one-hour presentation showcasing 500 photos of children with Down syndrome, representing 50 states and 11 countries.

Amira will appear on the heart of two Jumbotron screens in Times Square on Sept. 6.
