The universe that Richard Green talks about in interviews took the PGA Tour Champions star on a few twists and turns before dropping him for the first time in the winner’s circle Sunday.

That ride came in his 71st start on the circuit for age 50-plus golfers and at the 2025 Rogers Charity Classic here in Calgary.

And it left the 54-year-old Australian both excited and relieved.

“It’s amazing … you know,” said Green, with a grin underscoring his 18-under-par 192 victory in the US$2.5-million event at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club.

“It’s a great feeling to finally win … it’s one I’ll never forget,” continued Green. “You know … it’s relief and elation and joy, and my family at home and everybody is just going to be so happy.
