A woman was killed in a robbery turned deadly shooting late Saturday in the Bridgeport neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The shooting was reported at approximately 8:40 p.m. along West 27th Street near South Halsted Street. According to police, a 31-year-old woman was outside when she was shot by a male suspect traveling in a dark-colored sedan.
The victim was shot once in the chest and rushed to an area hospital, where she died. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified her as 31-year-old Gabriela Ochoa.
An investigation conducted revealed multiple suspects were trying to take the Ochoa's belongings, police stated.
No one was in custody late Sunday as detectives continued to investigate.
