Five northeast Indiana high schoolers this summer placed in the top 10 of an international competition focused on environmental and natural resource conservation.

The Warsaw Community High School students – recent graduates Sydney Clark and Evan Hand, senior Titiksha Gorhe and juniors Kevin Gough and Sean Smith – placed sixth overall at the NCF Envirothon, Warsaw Community Schools said in a news release.

The competition is a program of the National Conservation Foundation.

The Warsaw students were the only Hoosier participants. They faced about 50 teams from the United States, Canada and China during the weeklong event held last month at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta.
