Pierce Brosnan U-turns on a female Bond, now saying: ‘It has to be a man’

Pierce Brosnan has U-turned after previously saying James Bond should be played by a woman.

The 72-year-old actor has now said 007 “has to be a man”.

Brosnan, who played Bond in four movies between 1995 and 2002, wished Amazon well in its takeover of the franchise and said he was “excited” to see the “next man” take on the iconic role.

The GoldenEye star discussed the next portrayal of 007 and told Saga magazine: “Oh, I think it has to be a man.”
