New cameras are set to be installed at a bustling West Midlands junction just off the M5 motorway in a bid to crack down on rule violations at yellow box junctions.

Violations of yellow box regulations can cause significant issues, obstructing the flow of traffic and leading to congestion.

Cameras will soon be erected at the junction near M5 Junction 1 in West Bromwich, which will monitor traffic and keep an eye out for any vehicles stopping on the painted yellow box markings, which is prohibited unless waiting to turn right.

Studies indicate that many drivers are baffled by yellow box rules and are unsure of their purpose.

They are typically found at busy locations such as roundabouts and traffic lights where streams of traffic intersect.
