TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Mason Howell of Thomasville delivered a commanding performance to win the U.S. Amateur Championship on Sunday afternoon at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA.

It was a dominant victory for the 18-year-old who led by seven six holes to play in the final match.

With this victory, Howell becomes the third-youngest champion in tournament history, edging out Tiger Woods by nearly six months.

The Brookwood senior and University of Georgia commit now earns invitations to three of next years four major tournaments: the U.S. Open, The Masters, and The Open Championship. He will also represent the U.S at the Walker Cup at the beginning of September.
